What luxury vinyl plank is
LVP is a vinyl plank with a printed wood pattern under a clear wear layer. It handles water well, so people pick it for kitchens, baths and rentals. It can’t be sanded or refinished; once the wear layer is gone, the plank gets replaced.
What goes under it
Vinyl is thin, so every dip in the slab shows through. We level the slab first, then lay an underlayment such as cork between slab and plank to soften footsteps and cut noise.

Sorting the planks
The printed pattern on vinyl repeats every few planks, and two identical planks side by side jump out. Sorting them into piles by pattern before laying, as that review describes, keeps the twins apart.

Yes, including over a leveled slab with cork underlayment.
Do you install carpet?
Yes, in bedrooms and on stairs, and we pull old carpet before hardwood work.
Do you install laminate?
Yes. Laminate is a click-together floor with a printed wood look over a fiberboard core. It needs the same flat, dry base as vinyl.
Do you install tile?
No. Tile is a separate trade and a separate state license class.
Can luxury vinyl plank go over concrete?
Yes, if the slab is flat and dry. Low spots are filled first, and an underlayment can go between the slab and the plank.
